Art Game

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 24, 2008, 9:04 PM
My mouse just died, so I'm using my tablet to get around. The day this happened, I also was amazing enough to go downstairs and dump an entire cup of coffee on my father's computer which, coincidentally, destroyed his mouse as well.

Anyway, I was in the mood for new and different arts, so decided to make a game of it. I hopped onto random devartist whose picture looked interesting and if the rest of the gallery was up to whatever arbitrary whim I was measuring it with, I added. Then I hopped over to that artist's favorites until I found a pretty piece and then jumped to that artist's gallery. Repeat as necessary.

So now I have new pretties to look at. Which is good, because the other alternative would've been to plunk down more cash at Barnes and Noble. I keep oggling The Crow, Tankgirl and art books on Chuck Close and Banksy.

I have an old copy of the Crow...from ...ermm..1989 or 90, I think...back when I was in high school and Brandon Lee was still alive. *sigh*

I'm so damn old..

Meh, thirty-something is the new... thirty-something? I am bad in that I've seen both the movies to The Crow and Tankgirl, but haven't read the graphic novels. Even browsing at the bookstore, I didn't have the attention span to read them, but my goodness, the art is full of want and win and love. I'm particularly fond of Wood's (Tankgirl) dynamic sort of movement she gets with her lines. Crow is inky, inky love, just like Sin City.
